Since 2005, AISA has brought together educators, practitioners and experts from various backgrounds to assemble a program, called Managing Care for our People (MCP), designed to help educate volunteer individuals in their native countries. The thrust of this program is to train these individuals in counseling and management of humanitarian aid so that they may be more effective in helping their fellow countrymen in times of crisis and need.
The implementation of MCP is conducted through World Regional Trainers (WRTs) that are contracted by AISA to reach out to countries in their part of the world and train volunteer individuals within those countries. During the training certain individuals are identified, Regional Social Workers (RSWs), that receive additional training to assist the WRT in ongoing guidance and follow-up of the volunteer individuals as they counsel and manage humanitarian aid for their own people.
